Thousand Oaks Family Dentistry

Independent & family-owned

Your family’s dentist in Thousand Oaks

Thousand Oaks Family Dentistry is an independent, doctor-owned practice, not a corporate chain. Our philosophy is to spend individualized time with each person who walks through our doors. Drs. Kari Ann Hong and Chrissy Tapp each bring more than 20 years of experience to gentle, modern general and cosmetic dentistry for every generation of your family, with a focus on quality, not quantity.

Mon–Thu 8am–5pm · 1000 Newbury Road, Suite 190, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320

Rooted here

Dr. Hong grew up in Thousand Oaks and took over her father’s practice. This is her hometown office, and our patients are our neighbors.

Gentle, modern care

Solea laser dentistry often means no needle and no drill. Add CEREC same-day crowns and virtually painless Wand injections, and visits get a lot easier.

Whole-body dentistry

A healthy mouth supports a healthy body. Our Complete Health approach looks at the bigger picture.

The technology behind your care

We invest in technology when it makes your visit genuinely better — more comfortable, more precise, or faster.

Solea laser dentistry

Handles many procedures with no needle, no drill noise, and no numb lip afterward.

CEREC same-day dentistry

Crowns and e.max veneers designed, milled, and placed in a single visit — no temporaries, no weeks of waiting.

The Wand — painless injections

When numbing is needed, our computer-assisted STA Wand (by Milestone Scientific) delivers anesthetic slowly and precisely — most patients feel little more than gentle pressure, and often only the treated tooth goes numb.

Digital X-rays & 3D scanning

Low-dose digital X-rays, and Primescan 3D scans instead of goopy impression trays — the scans behind our same-day crowns and 3D-printed nightguards.

Complete Health

Healthy mouth, healthy body

Your oral health is connected to your heart, your sleep, and your long-term wellness. Our doctors have trained with leaders in oral-systemic health to bring that bigger picture into everyday dental care. It’s a big part of what makes this practice different.
